A Vast Range of Job and Internship Opportunities and a Record Number of Participants at the 20th UZ Job Fair!

A large number of students and graduates of the University of Zielona Góra attended the 20th UZ Job Fair, held on Tuesday, March 18, on Campus A. Nearly 60 exhibitors awaited those seeking employment, internships, or traineeships. Among them were representatives from local and national companies, uniformed services, and state institutions. The event provided an opportunity to consult application documents with experienced recruiters and learn about the conditions for collaboration with companies from nearly every industry.
- Students come to university to learn, but this time is quite short and passes quickly. It's only three or five years. Our regular job fairs aim to bring potential employers closer to participants and introduce them to the concept of work in general. The professional career period is very important. The UZ Career Office focuses on activating our students and graduates - said Dr. Hab. Barbara Literska, Professor at UZ, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Quality of Education.
The extensive list of exhibitors included companies operating in software development, energy, industrial automation, tourism, and construction. There were also opportunities for those interested in employment in uniformed services. For example, one of the stands encouraged attendees to join the police force. - We attend all job fairs. Recruitment is ongoing throughout the year. There are personnel movements, transfers to other units, and retirements. The police offer a very stable financial situation – after training, a young officer can earn up to 6,000 PLN net. It is a secure job. Additionally, there are bonuses and other benefits, such as the right to retire after 25 years of service - explained Deputy Inspector Małgorzata Stanisławska, Press Spokesperson for the Municipal Police Headquarters in Zielona Góra.
What were the students and graduates of the University of Zielona Góra primarily looking for? - We are looking for internships. We hope to find a company that will allow us to develop. The main goal is gaining experience, making new connections, and discovering places. Hopefully, this will help us grow and create professional contacts for the future - said Natalia and Konrad, first-year students of Tourism and Recreation at UZ.
In addition to job and internship opportunities, participants at the 20th UZ Job Fair also enjoyed competitions and a chill-out zone prepared by STREAMSOFT SP. Z O.O. SP. K. There was also a stand by the Aktywizacja Foundation, which offers support for students and graduates with disabilities in obtaining employment and personal development paths. Students interested in international internships or traineeships could find more information at the UZ International Cooperation Office stand.
